Supporting Families In Giving Thanks

The Evelyn Benson Berry Foundation, founded in 2022, kicked off its inaugural charity event on November 13, 2023. Founder and CEO, Pamela Berry, and volunteers arrived at 9 A.M. to sponsor Thanksgiving meals at Atlanta's Nicholas House, an Atlanta homeless shelter that keeps families together regardless of composition and helps them achieve self-sufficiency. Donated meal boxes included fresh cooked ham, vegetables and side dishes, desserts, tea, hot chocolate, disposable paper products, other non-perishable food items and grocery store gift cards to bless two families of up to 8 people experiencing homelessness.

Pamela Berry says, "Thanksgiving is a time where a lot of people despite having an income, still do not have the resources to enjoy the holidays the way they deserve. Our goal today is to give families the support they need to be able to make memories with their loved ones, despite their socioeconomic or housing status. That's the kind of love and compassion that my mother, our namesake, had for people. And I carry that with me into everything I do."
